“We Are Not Just a Restaurant” - BlackHorn Launches a New Initiative to Give Back to the Local Community

By Isabel Gallacher Since 2013, BlackHorn has been offering the community of St Andrews tasty, budget-friendly food that only uses beef from local farmers. Having cultivated a community of loyal locals, this year, the restaurant has launched a new initiative to raise money for Storehouse: a local foodbank supporting those in need through the means of drop-in sessions , drink vouchers and community events . The foodbank is also providing the Fife community with access to Clothesline : a clothing bank offering a variety of clothing to those who are facing hardships .    BlackHorn invites customers to make a financial donation to Storehouse and in turn receive an apron previously worn by a staff member of St Andrews’ premier burger restaurant . Having realised that the aprons were no longer suitable for the workplace but would be fully functional for BlackHorn’s customers , owner Justin Hughes saw an opportunity to turn them into something that benefits the local community whil
